2018 Winter Storm Prepardness

Today, January 4, 2018, we have forecast to get a potential blizzard with snow totals expected to be approximately 12".  Here's a list of important numbers and information in case you need it.  Let's hope for the best but be prepared for the worst!

Town Resources:

Weymouth Police Department - Only use 911 for dire emergencies.  Please use the non-emergency line for any issues that are not life threatening.  781-335-1212

Mayor's Office - The Mayor has an Emergency Hotline 1-800-335-8606.  Please note that this is a message center.  

Weymouth Department of Public Works - 781-337-5100 (Please note that the DPW director is predicting this storm will require at least a 2-day clean up.  Please be patient with plowing.  It's best to stay off the roads - both driving and parking - so the workers can do their jobs more effectively).  


Utilities Resources:

National Grid Electric - Power outages can be called in at 1-800-465-1212 or entered through their website here.  Outages are also tracked at that link if you'd like to see if friends or relatives in other parts of the town or state are affected.  This map usually gives an estimated restoration time.  

National Grid Gas - To report a gas leak, or other gas emergency, please call 1-800-233-5325.  This is open 24/7 365 days a week.  If you have a suspected natural gas leak, please also call WPD so firefighters can be dispatched to you for safety.  

Comcast - 1-800-COMCAST (1-800-266-2278).  This is open 24/7.

Verizon - 1-800-VERIZON (1-800-837-4966)


Other Town/Generic Updates:

There is no school on Thursday, January 4, 2018

Town Hall and other town offices are all closed on Thursday, January 4, 2018.  All public safety and DPW are fully staffed.  

Thursday garbage pick-up is starting early.  There has been no call yet as to Friday garbage pick up.  

Parking Bans will be strictly enforced. 

Keep in mind for potential coastal flooding:  High Tides are approximately 12:45 pm today and 1:25 am & 1:38 pm tomorrow 

Keep cell phones charged to the max in case power does go out.
